Muthu is a fintech product leader and hands-on builder with experience across ICICI Bank, TVS Credit, lending, payments, collections strategy, AI experiments, and founder-led software products. He built Upwork Goldmine from his own Upwork pursuit problem.
Why Goldmine exists
It began as a tool to make my own Upwork practice less erratic.
I attempted freelancing on Upwork for roughly three years. With limited capital, an above-average professional profile but no established marketplace history, I struggled to decide which jobs deserved scarce connects and sustained proposal effort.
I built Goldmine first for myself: a way to examine visible client evidence, reduce impulsive bidding, keep the promising job and return to it with a clear angle. I then released a free beta without paid promotion. More than 300 organic Chrome Web Store installs showed that the problem was not mine alone.
Goldmine remains an early, bootstrapped product. Product claims on this site separate visible facts, heuristics and limitations. A recommendation is a starting point for human review, never a promise of work.

Worked across online lending, Eazypay-Web and ICICI Labs. Drove a new online seller-finance platform through product definition, cloud-security approval, vendor selection, legal and compliance reviews, testing and launch; roughly 70% of the workflow was digitized.
2018–2021
Associate Vice President, Fintech & Strategy · TVS Credit
Worked from the CSO office across long-range planning, fintech experiments, underwriting and collections. A digital collections strategy doubled self-pay in six months and produced approximately INR 2.2 crore in annualized savings.
2021–present
Founder and hands-on product builder
Built and tested products across AI-assisted collections, publishing and freelancer productivity. The period includes experiments that did not become scaled companies, as well as the direct technical and product work behind Goldmine.

Goldmine’s field notes prioritize primary sources where available, state important limitations and avoid guarantees of jobs or earnings. Product documentation explains what the extension reads, what it changes on the page and where the freelancer remains responsible.
